About
Daniele Delicati
Daniele is a highly skilled physiotherapist who is specialized in the assessment, management and prevention of a wide range of neuro-musculoskeletal disorders, orthopedic and sport injuries. He has a lifelong passion for sport and fitness, leading him to complete degrees in both Physiotherapy and Sport Science in Italy. He moved to London in 2014 where he completed a MSc degree in Advanced Neuromusculoskeletal Physiotherapy at King’s College London and he worked privately for many years making people better. Daniele relocated with his family to Costa del Sol in 2021 where he continues to work as advanced physiotherapist delivering outstanding person-centered care for a broad range of medical conditions.
As a keen sportsman, Daniele has worked with both professional and recreational athletes treating injuries in several sport disciplines, including running, cycling, rowing, boxing, gymnastic, dance, swimming, rugby, hockey, badminton, cricket and football. His passion for physiotherapy is not only confined to sport. He has significant experience in treating patients with highly complex presentations, rheumatological conditions, fibromyalgia and neuropathic pain, centralising a multidisciplinary approach and a biopsychosocial model of care. Throughout his career, Daniele helped children with postural problems like scoliosis or kyphosis, hypermobility and overuse injuries. He worked with individuals suffering from headaches and temporomandibular joint disorders. He dealt with whiplash problems following road traffic accidents. He assisted elderly with chronic disease and degenerative joint pain. He treated pregnant women with back and pelvis pain. He also helped celebrities, such as Ian McKellen and Joe Wicks.
Daniele uses advanced clinical reasoning skills and knowledge of human anatomy and neurophysiology to determine what your problem is. Through appropriate triage and questioning, he can evaluate the source and nature of your problem. Performing accurate clinical testing, he formulates diagnosis and determines the best evidence-based management plan for his patients. Where necessary, he can also independently refer patients for diagnostic procedures or onto appropriate specialities.
Daniele delivers bespoke physiotherapy programmes based on expert knowledge of a broad range of treatment options. He uses manual therapy as essential part of his everyday work, being proficient with Maitland techniques, mobilization with movement, spinal manipulative therapy, massage, trigger point therapy, myofascial release and soft tissue therapy. He is proficient in the use of acupuncture to reduce pain and promote relaxation and tissue healing. He has robust skills in strength, conditioning and endurance training, and he can prescribe the right exercise to help you self-managing your problem. He is knowledgeable of Pilates principles to help patients who need to improve core and pelvis strength. He also uses neuromuscular taping techniques to help decreasing tissue sensitivity.
Daniele speaks fluent English, Spanish and Italian. He is used to helping people from different cultures, always informing them about the nature of their problem, the best treatment options and the likely recovery time. Daniele likes working in a friendly and relaxing atmosphere, establishing an effective therapeutic relationship with his patients and aiming to create lasting changes in how injured people approach their problems and achieve the highest level of quality of life.
In his free time, Daniele loves practicing sport and he spends most of his holiday with his family travelling the world.
